About Bedok Reservoir

Bedok Reservoir was a sand quarry used by HDB. It was announced as a reservoir in 1980, built from 1983 and completed in June 1985. It covers 88 hectares.

The estates around it were built in the 1980s and 1990s, after the rest of Bedok. In 2004 the reservoir hosted the first international water sports event held at a local reservoir.

The Waterfront condos (2011–2015) and Archipelago (2016) were later built along the northern shore, and Bedok Reservoir MRT on the Downtown Line opened in 2017.
